Penguin Chillers 1/2 HP Water Chiller

I chose the Penguin 1/2 HP chiller because it was recommended by a well known DIY Cold Plunge webpage. I ordered it from Carbon Wellness because it allowed me to use my HSA funds for the purchase. It's been installed and in use for two months now. It cools my 100 gallon Rubbermaid about 3-5 degrees an hour which is more than sufficient. I insulated my tub well so I only run the chiller for a couple hours a day trip keep the water temps in the mid 40's.

I initially bought the active aqua chiller. However it had a tough time getting my plunge below 44 degrees, I even got another one sent by them thinking it was a faulty chiller. Still had the same issue. Then I decided to give the penguin a try and to my surprise it easily holds the tub at my preset 38 degrees, only powers on when the temp goes above the set range where as the other one ran 24/7 and still couldn’t get the temp right. 5 stars so far love it

I switched from an active aqua quarter horsepower to this penguin half horsepower. I run 100 gallon stock tank cold plunge and it dropped 12° in 1 hour! This unit is an absolute tank!

I bought this for my cold plunge tub. I live in Miami and was able to easily set this up on my balcony and it keeps up even with the warmer weather. My tub stays at a frigid 39 degrees. I’ve loved this product so far! Def worth the price!

I was expecting a 4-6 week delivery time because I know a lot of niche things that are almost industrial like this have a little lead time. My gosh the delivery took 6 days. I got it all hooked up and set up. A little leaky but that's some tinkering I need to work on myself. The chiller is easy to navigate. And with the pump it's a constant jet coming into my ice pod. I set it all up and did my first plunge today after taking off the last 3 months (I had free access to ice for 6 months) my gosh. 52 was a wake up call absolutely miserable, painful. Teeth chattering. But overall I felt amazing after. Wonderful product as of now. It's set up in my garage which is a little warmer than outside colder than inside. We'll see how well it maintains temps in the summer in that climate

Service and timing was great. I worked through text to review a change(on my side) and it was seamless. Got my chiller in 6 days during the Thanksgiving holiday

I was nervous about whether this chiller unit would be able to maintain a sub 40 degree Fahrenheit temperature in my 100 gallon cold plunge. Worry not my crazy friends, this thing is a beast.

It has nice customization options for time delays between cycles, which saves on energy. The unit is quiet enough that you don’t notice it running if it is in the next room with the door closed, I have mine installed in my laundry room next to my office.

I’m ordering a second one for my father, so yeah 5 stars.

I paired this unit up to a Danner pump and 20-micron filtration system. So far I am really enjoying it and it has made my cold plunge practice much more sustainable and user friendly. I do NOT miss being reliant on bags/blocks of ice.

Hooked up the 1/2 HP chiller to my 150 gal. cold plunge. Keeps the water a crisp 40 degrees.

Use it for my cold plunge and it does NOT disappoint!

I love the Penguin chiller! It is easy to use and works very well to keep the water as cold as you need it to be for your cold plunge! I purchased it through Carbon Wellness and they were very helpful and responded to me promptly when I asked them questions.

I am very pleased with my water chiller. Works great, my cold plunge tank is over 100 gallons and it just took about 2 hours to get the temperature from 80 degrees to 65. Big difference between the 1/10 HP and the 1/2 HP. Down side it did take about 8 weeks for delivery but it is worth the wait.

Easy setup and works very well. It dropped the temperature really fast. Cold therapy has helped me recover from hard workouts. Great buy!

Installed this chiller with a Danner 1200GPH pump on a Rubbermaid 100Gallon Stock tank. Chiller works great and keeps my cold plunge at a perfect 36deg running only 1-2hrs a day...even in 90+ degree weather! So much easier than buying ice all the time!!

Installed 1/2 HP chiller with Danner 950 GPH pump to 150 Rubbermaid stock tank for cold plunge therapy. Chiller works great. It took about 5 1/2 hours to chill 90 gallons of summer hose water down to 56 degrees.

I hooked up my new 1/2 hp to a small pool pump and my 150 gallon call type trough cold plunge. Once it got going, temperature dropped about a degree per 5 minutes or so. He steqdy decline was fun to watch. And it just kept going…. My first plunge at my desired 41 degrees was brilliant. Thanks, Carbon.
